The mintage was just 28,950 pieces, but few gold dollars circulated in 1889 or later. The mintage went primarily to collectors, dealers, investors, and jewelers, where many pieces were well-preserved. This is an outstanding near Gem, with gleaming yellow-gold surfaces displaying swirling mint luster with a trace of reflectivity in the fields. Sharply struck devices. A few marks in the field behind Miss Liberty limits the grade. This is an excellent coin to add to your collection.
