Liberty Seated Dime Legend on Obverse (1860-1873) (1875-1891) In 1860 the Stars were removed from the Obverse and replaced with the inscription UNITED STATES OF AMERICA that had previously been on the Reverse. The Reverse was updated with a Laureate made of US Trade Goods of Oak Corn Wheat and Cotton instead of the traditional Olive branches. This design would persist through the Seated Dime to the Barber series with minor modifications.

  • Obverse: Liberty Seated Next to a Heraldic Shield Bearing a Staff with a Phrygian Cap on it.
  • Reverse: Laureate Crown Made of Trade Goods Around ONE DIME.
