Peace Dollar (1921-1935) - In 1921 Production of Silver Dollars was restarted to pay off War bonds with high interest rates as fast as possible by the government. The Peace Dollar Design was created to commend the end of the Great War and promote PEACE. It's initial concept was as a High Relief Design to emulate European coins of the time and show off emerging advancements in manufacturing as the country continued to adopt electricity. The Iconic High Relief Design Proved Difficult to produce so it was reduced in depth for the 1922 issue going forwards.
