Product Details
This is a NGC Graded Coin. You will receive the pictured coin. You are Buying a 1836 Gobrecht $1 Name on Base, Judd-60 Original, Metal Alignment IV, Pollock-65, R.1, Proof 25. Silver. Plain Edge. No Stars Obverse, Stars Reverse. Die Alignment IV (head of Liberty opposite the O in OF after a medal turn). All of the coins minted in 1837 were deposited into the U.S. banking system; and therefore, most of the Die Alignment IV coins are found in circulated condition. A lot of Gobrecht dollars are either heavily toned or have problematic surfaces, or both. This is an attractive example that exhibits light, even original patina over each side. Years in circulation reveal a number of small abrasions on each side (actually more on the reverse). This is an excellent coin to add to your collection.
