Product Details

This coin is certified by PCGS and you will receive the pictured coin. You are Buying a 1892 Liberty Head Gold Eagle $10 graded PR58+ by PCGS. The Guide Book reports a proof mintage of 72 pieces, but perhaps only half of that number have survived. PCGS has certified 32 pieces in all grades, four in circulated condition, with an unknown number of resubmissions over the past years. This is a flashy example with moderate field hairlines and a hint of striking softness at the centers. Cameo contrast is obvious, but undesignated.

The $10 Liberty Head gold coin had an extremely large face value for its time and was not as widely circulated as other coins from the same time period. These spectacular coins were minted from 1838 to 1907 and every one of them is now over 100 years old. Today, since they have become increasingly difficult to find, collectors are eager to get their hands on them.
This is an excellent coin to add to your collection.

Coin Features:

  • PCGS Graded Proof AU58
  • Mintage - 72
  • Obverse: Gracing the front of this stunning coin is Christian Gobrecht's neoclassical rendition of Lady Liberty, which incorporates many of the common aesthetics found in early Greco-Roman art. It depicts Lady Liberty in profile, wearing an inscribed crown on top of her elaborately arranged hairstyle. Framing her beautiful profile, along the outer edge of the coin, is a series of thirteen stars. These represent the original thirteen US colonies. Lastly, appearing beneath her portrait is the coin’s mintage year.
