The 50 Peso Mexican Gold Coin is more commonly known today as the gold Centenario because it was first issued in 1921 by the Mexican Mint to commemorate 100 years of Mexican independence from Spanish colonial rule. It contains 1.20565 Troy Oz. of actual gold content.
