American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins were released in 1986 by the U.S. Mint. The reverse was originally designed by John Mercanti until the year 2020 (known as a Type 1 reverse), when the U.S. Mint decided to redesign it. Emily Damstra's new reverse (known as a Type 2) now graces the current coin.

• Reverse:   Features an eagle as it approaches a landing, carrying an oak branch, as if to add it to a nest. Inscriptions are 'UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,' 'E PLURIBUS UNUM,' '1 OZ. FINE SILVER,' and 'ONE DOLLAR.'
