Product Details:

Struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 1817, this Capped Bust Half Dollar 50C represents John Reich's classic early American silver design, cataloged as the desirable Overton-106a Single Leaf variety. The obverse features a left-facing bust of Lady Liberty wearing a cloth cap inscribed LIBERTY with curls cascading over her shoulder, flanked by thirteen six-pointed stars and dated 1817 below. The reverse displays a naturalistic heraldic eagle clutching an olive branch and arrows beneath a banner bearing E PLURIBUS UNUM, encircled by UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the 50 C. denomination. Certified Extremely Fine 45 (XF45) by PCGS, this historic early federal silver half dollar exhibits sharp residual drapery and feather detail, strong design outlines, and attractive original antique toning highlighting the fields and devices.
