Product Details
This 1799/8 Draped Bust Silver Dollar featuring the rare and desirable 15 Reverse Stars variety graded PCGS VF 20 is a magnificent addition to any early American silver or high-end type collection. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint during the final year of the 18th century, this historic overdate variety exhibits the clear outline of an 8 beneath the final 9 in the date. Furthermore, the reverse features 15 stars above the heraldic eagle instead of the standard 13, creating one of the most distinctive and widely sought-after variety combinations in the early dollar series. Graded Very Fine 20 by PCGS, this early federal survivor displays smooth, even wear across Liberty's hair and the heraldic eagle's plumage, pleasant medium-gray toning, and outstanding historic character.
